Pack the Capitol Against Corporate Power Grab to Steal Worker Rights!

**Join us at 3 if you can, and anytime after if you can't make it at 3. We are expecting a late night!**

The floor vote for preemption/local interference is happening this Thursday! Now is the time to pack the Capitol with the people this awful bill will affect and those that stand in solidarity with them! The bill called "local preemption" will prevent cities from passing their own higher labor standards and minimum wages. This bill, taken from corporate lobby group ALEC, will REPEAL paid sick time in Minneapolis and St. Paul; make it ILLEGAL for cities to raise the minimum wage; and DESTROY cities' power to set higher standards for wages and working conditions.

This will steal Earned Sick Time from 150,000 workers in the Twin Cities. It will steal local democracy from the many communities, in both urban and rural Minnesota, that have diverse worker needs.

This is a direct attack on the workers of color, women and families who have been disproportionately hit in low wage and low/no benefit jobs. Together with our allies, we've led and won the fight for paid sick time. We continue to push for a $15 minimum wage, and better scheduling policies in an effort to close the worst racial disparities in the nation.Corporations can not slam the door on us!

At a time when cities are our last line of defense to advance progressive policies, we need to stand strong against this outrageous power grab. Show up to PACK the Capitol as they attempt to take a vote AGAINST the people they serve.

We will gather at 3:00pm outside the house chamber. Legislators should arrive around 3:30. If you can't come earlier, still come! Arrive when you can.
