Workers' Rights Meeting: Taking $15 To The Finish Line

For the past two years NOC, along with black and brown workers, have led the fight for a $15 minimum wage here in the city of Minneapolis a wage increase that would annually see close to a billion dollars pulled from the profits of big corporations and put into the pockets of working people.

We are happy to announce we are close to seeing the passage of a $15 minimum wage that covers all Minneapolis workers, but the fight is not over we must continue to pressure city officials to make sure the they increase the wage this summer.

At the meeting, Rod Adams will facilitate a discussion on next steps in the $15 minimum wage campaign and how to plug in (how we WIN!) as well as May Day (International Workers Day) actions. We will have city staff from the cities Civil Rights Department present on the Earned Sick and Safe Time Ordinance that will affect over 150,000 workers. Finally, we will introduce our Fed Up Campaign against the Federal Reserve focused on creating a more inclusive economy and how you can plug in as a NOC member.
